Atlanta Falcons – Dec 2017

Recently I had the opportunity to go to the new Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta to see The Atlanta Falcons (ATL Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints). What a great game – and venue! Did I mention the Falcons won? Rise up!

The new stadium sits in the shadow of the old Georgia Dome – or I should say the other way around, and adjacent to the Georgia World Congress Center. The old GA Dome was recently imploded and you can see the nighttime efforts as they finish dismantling and removing debris from the site.

The new stadium has a retractable roof, although there have been issues with it. This was a night game so it didn’t much matter.

As you might imagine, and perhaps particularly as a Thursday Night Football game broadcast to the world, there is a certain element of drama to an NFL game: lights, camera, action!

I would never make going to a football game (or any sporting event) a regular occurrence, but jeez, it sure was a fun night! Beer, BBQ and a ballgame – not awful.
