Like probably most families, we have storied experiences in our family of celebrating Thanksgiving. Storied experience is code for this family ain’t right. But all our antics are laced with love and laughter – and thankfulness.

We celebrated Thanksgiving this year in downtown Denver at Child Units 2 and 2b’s house, with some of their friends and family. Child Unit 1 could not make it because ultimately, she couldn’t decide which pajamas to wear for the flight. Style matters. Regardless, we carried on and enjoyed a full-on turkey meal, augmented by pre-meal Flintlocks.

After Thanksgiving, Drew and Rachel scored us an extremely hard-to-get reservation for Friday night at Alma Fonda Fina in the Highlands area of Denver, a Michelin star Mexican restaurant that was simply fabulous. If you are in Denver, add this to your list – but you need a two-month window to score a reservation. Reservations open at midnight, 60 days out, and the restaurant only seats about 40 guests.

Prior to departure towards home, we had one last little poke – a little snow to remind us of where we are and what time of year this is. We have been out on the road since the latter part of September and I for one can’t wait to get home so I can sort through our very important mail, and make sure I have properly renewed extended warranties on our vehicles. Wish us luck.
