Halloween – Oct 2019

Oh boy – back in the hood… and for Halloween!  Talk about magical… or would that be black magic.  Whatever it was, we must have had 100 kids show up at our door to trick or treat.

First off, it is hard to be a photographer memorializing this sacred event when you are an active participant, so thanks and appreciation to Karen, Molly Beaver Israel, Amy Engleman Smith, Ashley Waters and others for some of these photos.

Reporting live from the broadcast booth, this year our theme was The Weather Channel.  If you have ever turned on The Weather Channel during a weather event (hurricane, snow storm, northeaster, whatever) you may recognize some of the liberties we have taken at their expense.  Pretty sure Jim Cantore would be rolling his eyes.  You may be as well.

The Weather Channel theme was appropriate – the start of the day was around 72 degrees, a storm front rolled through dumping a huge amount of rain and winds with gusts up to 30 mph and dropped the temperatures into the low 30’s, but by “game time” the rain had moved on.  Now I am not a meteorologist, but I can now say I have played a meteorologist.  Just sayin’.

Our neighbors Darryl and Nicole rocked the neighborhood with their haunted house, which was superb!  From about the time they opened until closing, there was a line to get in!

And everyone in the neighborhood participated in extraordinary fashion.  Here are a few more shots from the night…

I am reminded (yet again) what a great community we are a part of and enjoy.
