The Public Works group for the City of Acworth is holding a Creek Cleanup at 8:00 am on Saturday, April 18th at Lake Acworth (Acworth, GA). While I am unable to attend, I wanted to post this in case there are others interested and available on that day.

If you are not familiar with Lake Acworth, it is a gorgeous lake surrounded by wetlands and a park on one side and Cobblestone Golf Course on the other; lots of birds and wildlife. It is great for paddling, and if you circumnavigate the lake it is about a 5-mile paddle; no motorboats are allowed so this is as pristine as you will find this close to the metro area.

If this is an effort you are available to volunteer, please reach out to publicworks@acworth.org and let them know you will attend. I believe they have sponsors who will provide lunch and possibly some prizes, but either way it is an extremely worthwhile effort!
