We had a blast (once again) at this year’s Alumalina! The Alumalina rally has become one of the most popular Airstream-related camping events held. Somehow Airstreaming ignites independence and an equally strong sense of community. The result? Food, fun and fellowship!
Yes, this last weekend we and a couple hundred other Airstreams gathered in the northern South Carolina mountains near Caesars Head at Palmetto Cove. What a hoot!
It has been a few years since we last attended this rally – an absolutely exceptional 3 days of fun and music… does that sound familiar!?! Shy by just a few days of Halloween, we saw our share of creepy creatures.
While the event is attended by what must be 400+ people, it never felt too large, and there were a lot of independent activities and fire pits where people could gather in smaller numbers. As usual, John and team cooked up their famous Possum Bog (tastes a lot like chicken), and of course the Saturday night fish fry.
Thanks to John, Susan, Terry, Annie, the folks at Palmetto Cove, the seminar presenters, cooks, volunteers, sponsors and all the participants… without which this event could never be as successful and fun as it is! In no particular order, here are a few photos from the weekend, and thanks again for a great time!!

[…] past October we were able to attend again one of our favorite events – Alumalina, an Airstream (mostly) event hosted by two of our favorite people – John and Susan Leake. Another […]
We missed it this year: thanks for helping us feel like we were there!
