In no particular order, here are a few random photos from place we have been that were of particular interest. 🙂
Road on BLM lands near Canyonlands National Park (UT). Some of the hairpin turns required a 3-point turn, where you are looking out at… sky and certain death if you go too far. Yikes!
Just outside of Marfa, TX stands this art piece. It is not a Prada store, just a store front created as one of many cool artwork pieces in this funky town. This “store” stands in pretty much the middle of nowhere – and I mean nowhere.
Appalachian Trail – somewhere in NC
Smokey Mountains (TN)
Looking from the old Santa Fe Trail, middle of Kansas
Keweenah Peninsula on the Upper Peninsula (MI), where our son goes to school (Michigan Tech. On average close to 300 inches of snow per year or as you can see has reached almost 400 inches. This sign is so tall (over 30 feet tall) I needed my telephoto lens just to capture it!
Fall colors on the UP actually compete against New England colors – really beautiful!
SRV (Austin, TX)
Middle of nowhere. Look how freaking big those wind turbines are! Our truck and trailer look like a rounding error.

Casey Key Fish House (FL). Great place to paddle to, have a cocktail, and then paddle back to the campground. The sign inside over the bartender says, “The boobs are real; the smile is fake.”
BLM lands near Canyonlands NP – a little too tight a fit for an F250 with kayaks to pass
Winter Island (MA), looking across Salem Harbor into Marblehead
