Marietta Square – May 2015

Free concert anyone? From April until September there are free concerts in Glover Park in Marietta Square (GA) on the last Friday of each month. Bring your picnic basket or dine at one of the restaurants on the square. We dined in a restaurant (we went to the Stockyard – glad we did!) and then brought our folding chairs over to listen to the Douglas Cameron (big band) Orchestra. They were great! Speaking of bands, we met some former Pope High School band parents and got to catch up on our kids.

There was dancing, dining, listening, talking, laughing… all sitting out under the stars (and as I am told, a bright waxing gibbous moon) on a beautiful summer Georgia evening. The entire square was packed with people, yet it was really comfortable; the square was shut down to traffic so it was very easy to maneuver. I have to say – Marietta Square rocks!!
