A splendid few days in the keys! We were extremely lucky to get reservations at Bahia Honda State Park. Beautiful weather, although a bit windy; didn’t seem to keep the locals away.

Can you say Hoss? That’s right – this is where Hoss Cartwright from Bonanza hales (or went to school, or something). Alpine, TX – pretty close to the middle of nowhere, but home to Sul Ross State University. Now you are surely saying, why didn’t you say so? NOW I know where you were!

Probably one of the least well-known national parks in the country, Great Basin NP is actually in Nevada, but not far from the Utah line. But it is not close to ANYTHING! Camping is basic boondocking, but it is gorgeous. Due to truck issues, our trip here was curtailed, but hope to be back again!
